When combining fabrics in patterns, it is important that the repeating patterns match on both sides of the seam. Before cutting the material, we have to make a decision, where the patterns are to be located on the finished product. First, we cut the first part, then we adjust the next ones to it, so that the patterns fit together. We start joining only then, when we cut all parts of the pattern. To exactly match them with motifs to each other, you will need a thread of the appropriate color and a set of basic sewing utensils.
1. MATCHING PARTS AND DESIGN – We press along the edge of one part of the fabric 1,5 cm of reserve inside out. Turn over and put with a pressed edge on the unheamed edge of the other part of the material yes, so that both parts are right side up. We match the pattern motifs on both parts. Holding the edges of both parts together, we put on the pressed part on the other, so that they touch their right sides. We fasten both parts along the fold line.
2. STAPLING – We lay out both parts in one plane, to make sure, or patterns each other, complement. We temporarily connect them with a ladder stitch along the pressed line. Then we fold them right sides together and sew flat stitch along the same line. We remove the threads of the ladder stitch.
