1. TWINE ADJUSTMENT – The most accurate method of sewing in a hem with a string is to sew it to the right side of one of the parts of the fabric with a reserve 10 cm. We set up a precinct together with 6 mm with the tip of the diagonal cut pleat. We fold it diagonally according to its weave and press it.
2.PLEAT BINDING – We put the other end of the pleat over the folded overlap. We check, whether the directions of the weave of both its ends match and whether they lie flat. We pin both ends of the pleat along the line of creating the stock.
3. JOINING ENDS – We baste and sew the ends of the pleat to the overlap line marked with pins. We cut out unnecessary material. Iron the seam flat. We untangle the free ends of the string, we cut out a part of the strands from each of them, to make them darker, and we twist them together.
4.COMPLETING A CALL – We fasten the ends of the string with a needle and thread. Over the place of their connection, we put on a pleat cut from the slant. On the machine we sew a border with a string to the main part of the fabric using a zipper foot.
